About Léa Linster

For decades, Léa Linster has been a highly successful culinary ambassador for Luxembourg. Her passion for cooking and her love of gastronomy began in childhood, in her parents’ café-restaurant in Frisange, Luxembourg, the very place she would transform into a Michelin-starred restaurant in 1987.

Just two years later, Léa Linster won the Bocuse d’Or, the “world championship for chefs” and remains the only woman ever to have won the title. Paul Bocuse subsequently bestowed upon her the title of “Queen of Taste” and welcomed her into the circle of France’s great chefs.

In 2019, Léa Linster handed over her Michelin-starred restaurant to her son, Louis Linster. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her café-boutique, “La Madeleine,” located in Luxembourg City. Following the publication of her 20th cookbook in 2024, her first baking book, entitled Jetzt backen wir!, was published in September 2026 by GU, her long-standing publisher.

In June 2026, Léa Linster received Germany’s Federal Cross of Merit in recognition of her commitment to fostering cross-border ties through culinary culture.
