DESCRIPTION:We are very pleased to invite you to the upcoming WIB GET TOGETHER at Golf-Club Grand-Ducal from 12.15 pm to 1.45 pm on April 22nd\, 2025. \n\n\n\nOn this occasion\, we will welcome  \n\n\n\nDr. Martine Goergen \n\n\n\nCEO  \n\n\n\nCENTRE HOSPITALIER DE LUXEMBOURG \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nwho will address on \n\n\n\nWomen in surgery: conquest\, legitimacy and leadership \n\n\n\nWomen surgeons do not inherit their position. They build it through their excellence and determination. \n\n\n\nEvery day they navigate between societal expectations and their legitimate professional aspirations. \n\n\n\nTheir presence enriches the culture of surgery. Their leadership redefines the standards of medical excellence. \n\n\n\nThrough their expertise\, they transform not only the lives of their patients\, but also the future of their discipline. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Dr Martine Goergen \n\n\n\nDr. Martine Goergen is the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) CEO and a specialist in general visceral\, vascular and thoracic surgery.  \n\n\n\nAfter training at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1986-1992)\, she specialised in visceral surgery in Brussels\, Madrid and Paris. She joined the CHL in 2001\, where she actively contributed to the development of minimally invasive surgery\, bariatric surgery\, the Obesity Clinic and hepatobiliary surgery. \n\n\n\nFrom 2014 to 2017\, she was head of the general surgery and urology department. She is also the author of numerous publications and a regular speaker at international conferences. Dr. Goergen is also a member of several international scientific societies and President of the Société de Chirurgie de Luxembourg.  \n\n\n\nShe was Medical Director of the CHL from 2017 to 2024 before becoming its Chief Executive Officer. She is also Chairman of the Board of the INCCI (Institut National de Chirurgie Cardiaque et de Cardiologie Interventionnelle). \n\n\n\nAs all our profits go to charities\, no refund will be proposed in case of cancellation.  \n\n\n\nWIB Get Together lunches are members only events.
